About

Alicia Seymour, MA, ATR-P, NCC

Alicia has master's degrees in both Art Therapy and Clinical Counseling from Pennsylvania Western University. Her dual degree has allowed her to become both a Provisionally Registered Art Therapist and a Nationally Certified Counselor currently under supervision. Alicia has over 10 years experience working in various positions in the mental health field addressing a wide variety of diagnoses. Before starting her own practice she worked as a primary counselor for children in partial inpatient care and a grief counselor/art therapist with hospice. Alicia also has extensive experience in the criminal justice system as a court ordered family therapist and a consultant for criminal defense lawyers with clients facing possible life sentences.

At See More Art Therapy services are anchored in acceptance of the individual regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, or religious/spiritual beliefs. Her goal in starting her own practice was to create a space where everyone felt welcome and free to be themselves. Recognizing that no two people are the same, services are customized to meet the unique needs of the individual.

Alicia is the author of the upcoming book Artful Grieving (Jessica Kingsley Publishers). Artful Grieving is the first of its kind book that provides 50 grief specific art therapy directives based in grief counseling models. Alicia has presented her work at the American Art Therapy Association's national conference. She is currently working on new presentations, workshops, and articles. Updates will be provided in the News section and on her social media pages. Alicia is always happy to consult with other art therapists and grief counselors on her work and how they can incorporate it into their practice.
